Lotton Art Glass - Lamps
"One can only marvel at what has been accomplished and wonder about the achievements that lie ahead." - Charles Lotton
Over thirty three years ago with an immense amount of faith and integrity Charles Lotton began with a small furnace built in his home’s backyard leaving a successful hair salon behind he ventured into the glassmaking world. His first art glass was blown from old Coke and brown beer bottles that his sons, neighborhood kids, even salon customers collected for him.
After diving into the chemistry of glass Charles began developing his own formulas which today are some of the most unique colors in the world. never being trained as a glassblower Charles took on a style all his own entitled " Multi Flora". While Charles progressed as a glassblower so did his three sons, David, Daniel and John Lotton. Each with a very distinct style of their own, including now a grandson, Jeremiah making three generations of glassblowers. Each day Charles continues to marvel at his accomplishments and wonders what achievements lie ahead.
Charles shares the Lotton Glass Studios in Crete, Illinois with his son Daniel Lotton. Daniel is known for his own expressive and unique style that includes lamps and chandeliers for private and corporate collections. Lotton Studios also offers art glass by gifted artists Jerry Heer and Scott Bayless.
