Founded by Celia Hartman Riech in 1997, Sono Fine Art limited edition bronze embody the spirit of the East with a contemporary twist of the West. Traditionally Eastern subjects are given the modernity of the Western World. In a similar manner, traditional bronze is enhanced with colorful patination. The result is a fusion of two worlds, Ying and Yang...the old and the new.

From it’s ancient mythological origins to household protective spirit, cats have held a place of high esteem for centuries. In creation myths, the cat is universally linked to the stars of Day and Night. In ancient Egypt, Bastet was the goddess of music, dance and the joie-de-vivre. Cats were considered to be genius loci or household spirit by the Gallo Romans. Greek and Roman mythology attributed the cat’s origins to the divinities of the moon,Artemis and Diana. Valued for strength, agility,fertility,and their independent nature, Mohammad granted to the cat the gift of always landing on their feet. In Japan, Maneki Neko is the symbol of good fortune. The cat with left paw raised insures commercial success. From Heaven to Hearth, cats have earned their place of importance in our daily lives.
